Psalms 147

¹Praise Yahweh!

²Jerusalem was destroyed, but Yahweh is enabling us to build Jerusalem again.

³He enables those who were very discouraged to be encouraged again;

⁴He has determined how many stars there will be,

⁵Yahweh is great and very powerful,

⁶Yahweh lifts up those who have been oppressed,

⁷Thank Yahweh while you are singing to him to praise him;

⁸He covers the sky with clouds,

⁹He gives to animals the food that they need,

¹⁰He is not pleased with strong horses

¹¹Instead, what pleases him are those who revere him,

¹²You people of [APO] Jerusalem, praise Yahweh!

¹³He guards your city by keeping its gates strong.

¹⁴He protects the borders of your country, so that enemies from other countries cannot attack you.

¹⁵He commands what he wants to be done on the earth,

¹⁶He sends snow which covers the ground like a white wool blanket [SIM],

¹⁷He sends hail down like ◄pebbles/tiny stones►;

¹⁸But he commands the wind to blow, and it blows.

¹⁹He sent his message to the descendants of Jacob;

²⁰He has not done that for any other nation;
