1My bride, you who are dearer to me than my sister,

2I was partially asleep, but my mind was still awake.

3But I had already taken off my robe;

4The one who loves me put his hand through the opening in the wall,

5I got up to open the door for the one who loves me,

6I opened the door for the man who loves me,

7The city watchmen saw me while they were walking around the city.

8You young women of Jerusalem,

9You who are the ◄fairest/most beautiful► among women,

10The man who loves me is handsome and healthy,

11His head is beautiful, like [MET] purest gold;

12His eyes are as gentle as [SIM] doves

13His cheeks are like [SIM] a garden full of spice trees

14His arms are like [MET] gold bars/rods

15His legs are like [MET] pillars of marble

16His kisses [MTY] are extremely sweet;
