Zephaniah 2

¹Gather yourselves, gather together,

²before the decree takes effect 2:2 Hebrew is given birth

³Seek the LORD, all you humble of the earth

⁴For Gaza will be abandoned,

⁵Woe to the dwellers of the seacoast,

⁶So the seacoast will become a land of pastures,

⁷The coast will belong to the remnant of the house of Judah;

⁸“I have heard the reproach of Moab

⁹Therefore, as surely as I live,”

¹⁰This they shall have in return for their pride,

¹¹The LORD will be terrifying to them

¹²“You too, O Cushites,2:12 That is, people from the upper Nile region

¹³And He will stretch out His hand against the north

¹⁴Herds will lie down in her midst,

¹⁵This carefree city
