Hosea 6

¹Come, let us return to the LORD.

²After two days He will revive us;

³So let us know—

⁴What shall I do with you, O Ephraim 6:4 That is, the northern kingdom of Israel; also in verse 10?

⁵Therefore I have hewn them by the prophets;

⁶For I desire mercy, not sacrifice,6:6 Cited in Matthew 9:13 and Matthew 12:7

⁷But they, like Adam, have transgressed 6:7 Or As at Adam, they have transgressed the covenant;

⁸Gilead is a city of evildoers,

⁹Like raiders who lie in ambush,

¹⁰In the house of Israel

¹¹Also for you, O Judah,
