Hosea 13

¹When Ephraim 13:1 That is, the northern kingdom of Israel; also in verse 12 spoke, there was trembling;

²Now they sin more and more

³Therefore they will be like the morning mist,

⁴Yet I am the LORD your God

⁵I knew you in the wilderness,

⁶When they had pasture,

⁷So like a lion I will pounce on them;

⁸Like a bear robbed of her cubs I will attack them,

⁹You are destroyed, O Israel,

¹⁰Where is your king now 13:10 Or Shall I be your King now

¹¹So in My anger I gave you a king,

¹²The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up;

¹³Labor pains come upon him,

¹⁴I will ransom them from the power of Sheol;

¹⁵Although he flourishes among his brothers,

¹⁶Samaria will bear her guilt
